Black Catholic Proud
Black Catholic Proud began from a simple but powerful reality: Black Catholics have always been here. In parishes, in pews, in choirs, in classrooms, in ministries. In the quiet sacrifices. In the loud celebrations. Yet too often, our stories have not been centered. BCP was created as a visible affirmation of identity. A declaration that faith and culture are not in competition. They coexist beautifully. Our apparel, community initiatives, and cultural storytelling reflect that truth.

Community
We envision a Church where Black Catholics feel fully seen, fully valued, and fully represented. We envision families who can walk into Catholic spaces with confidence and pride. We envision young people who grow up knowing their culture is not something to minimize, but something to steward.

WHAT WE DO
Through partnerships, church collaborations, and cultural initiatives, BCP works to strengthen connections within Black Catholic communities locally and nationally.
We highlight stories, traditions, and lived experiences that often go undocumented. Our platform exists to amplify voices and preserve cultural memory.
BCP creates thoughtfully designed apparel and goods that reflect Catholic tradition and Black heritage. From limited collections to parish inspired pieces, each item carries intention.
Representation shapes belonging.
When children see themselves reflected in faith spaces, they grow differently. When families feel culturally understood, they stay rooted. When heritage is acknowledged, identity strengthens. Black Catholic Proud stands in that space. Not to replace tradition. But to illuminate it more fully.
A NOTE ON LEGACY
Our work is inspired by the generations who built parishes from nothing. By those who worshipped faithfully despite exclusion. By those who carried the Church forward when it did not always carry them.
We honor that legacy by continuing to show up. Proudly.
